State census records frequently tell things years before the federal census records do. I made this for myself to quickly find out which state census year to consult for answers to specific questions--like:

• What was their house made out of?
  
• What was the relationship of every person to the head of family?
  
• Which COUNTY (not country) was the birthplace of every person born in New York? - Very important answer!

If there are a lot of them, use the ? in place of one vowel or * if you think there will be two or more vowels in a row.(!). Example:
Mowat could be:
Mowet
Mowit
Moit

So, search for them like this:
M?w?t

What a mistake to switch brands! After several days trying many solutions, the only thing that worked was to leave both mice plugged in so that one mouse will work--a loss of one USB port. Live and learn!
